Legend has it that Balete trees are the favoured haunt of the Kapre, a towering, cigar-smoking creature from Filipino mythology known for playing pranks on those who dare to wander near. But fear not! Our resident Kapre is more interested in good food and great company than mischief.
In fact, he’s the inspiration behind our unique fusion menu of Filipino, Spanish, Korean and Japanese and providing you an enchanting ambiance in which to dine.
We strive to be the best restaurant in Panglao and will drive that from your reviews and feedback. Whether you’re dining high up in the tree’s branches or at its sturdy base in our sports bar, each meal will bring you a fusion of tastes as legendary as the Kapre himself.
At the Kapre we have a unique offering on meals ordered, devoured and and paid before between 3-6pm on Tuesday and Thursday. Have a roll of the Kapre die. Roll a SIX and your food is on us…
*Valid until 31st December, 2026. Dine-in only. Cannot be combined with other offers.
** One roll per table or booking

QUESTIONS
Depends on who you ask! Our Balete tree is legendary, but the only spirits we guarantee are in your cocktail. 🍸👻 #HaveYouSeenTheKapre
Absolutely! We have dining in the tree-top for those who want dinner with a view—just don’t blame us if the Kapre “borrows” a bite. 🌳🍽️ You’ll need to book in advance as we book up pretty quick each day: also ideal for weddings, birthday and celebrations. Or you can simply grab a beer, some snacks and watch some sport at our groundfloor bar.
Walk-ins are welcome, but book ahead if you want the best seats in (or under) the tree! The Kapre may be patient, but hungry diners aren’t. 📅🔥
A wild fusion of Filipino, Spanish, Korean, and Japanese flavours, including our specials from the Asador BBQ and kimchi sisig to halo-halo waffles and ice cream with bacon. 🍢🍣🍨
Of course! Our bar is fully stocked with cold beers, signature cocktails, and enough liquid courage to get you dancing under the Balete tree. 🍻🎶 We also show sports from across the world, at the necessary time zones of where that sport is being shown. The Kapre loves his English Premier League.
Yes, you absolutely can. We provide her with driver and chef. We can also tailor a menu and frozen cocktails for your special day.
That would be the Kapre himself, Brian Kennett, and his lovely wife. Brian originally hails from the UK, but has spent the last 25 years in Asia, and Mary is pure-blood Boholano from Mabini. Brian has been knighted to Sir in the Philippines by the Knights of Rizal.
